Workshop on Multi-Modal Agents for Science科学多模态智能体研讨会

This workshop will be held as part of WAICA 2026 in Shanghai, China. It brings together researchers from artificial intelligence, multimodal learning, embodied AI, robotics, and scientific computing to explore closed-loop AI systems that integrate perception, reasoning, and physical experimentation for autonomous scientific discovery. The workshop focuses on multimodal foundation models, agentic AI, and embodied experimental systems, with particular interest in unified scientific perception, AutoResearch agents, closed-loop embodied discovery, and human-AI co-discovery across scientific domains.本专题研讨会将作为 WAICA 2026 的一部分在中国上海举办,汇聚人工智能、多模态学习、具身智能、机器人与科学计算领域研究者,共同探索融合感知、推理与物理实验的闭环 AI 科学发现系统。研讨会聚焦多模态基础模型、智能体 AI 与具身实验系统,重点关注统一科学感知、AutoResearch 智能体、闭环具身发现以及跨科学领域的人机协同发现。

Workshop Aims研讨会目标

  • Bridge the gap between multimodal AI, agentic systems, and physical scientific experimentation.弥合多模态 AI、智能体系统与物理科学实验之间的鸿沟。
  • Highlight recent advances in multimodal perception, AutoResearch agents, embodied experimentation, and human-AI collaborative discovery.展示多模态感知、AutoResearch 智能体、具身实验与人机协同发现的最新进展。
  • Foster the development of closed-loop AI Scientist systems for end-to-end scientific discovery workflows.推动面向端到端科学发现流程的闭环 AI Scientist 系统发展。
  • Provide a focused venue for discussing algorithms, benchmarks, applications, and challenges in multimodal scientific agents.为多模态科学智能体的算法、基准、应用与挑战提供聚焦讨论平台。

Call for Papers Topics征稿主题

Submission and Review投稿与评审

Submissions should be made through the official WAICA submission system. The workshop will use the official conference platform and follow the relevant WAICA review and submission policies. Authors should prepare anonymous manuscripts where required and ensure compliance with applicable conference rules on ethics, conflict of interest, and preprints.投稿应通过 WAICA 官方投稿系统提交。本研讨会将使用大会官方平台,并遵循 WAICA 相关审稿与投稿政策。作者需按要求准备匿名稿件,并遵守会议关于伦理、利益冲突与预印本等的相关规定。

Submitted papers should be written in English and provided in PDF format. Manuscripts should be self-contained, clearly readable in black-and-white printing, and follow the official WAICA template and formatting requirements. The length of workshop paper is suggested 8–10 pages (single column) and does not permit supplementary material through external links.论文须为英文撰写并以 PDF 提交。稿件应自成体系、黑白打印可读,并遵循 WAICA 官方模板与格式要求。研讨会论文建议篇幅为单栏 8–10 页,且不允许通过外部链接提交补充材料。

All submissions will be peer-reviewed by at least two Program Committee members based on originality, technical quality, relevance to the workshop themes, and clarity of presentation. Final acceptance decisions will be made by the workshop organizers.所有投稿将由至少两位程序委员会成员进行同行评审,评审标准包括原创性、技术质量、与研讨会主题相关性以及表述清晰度。最终录用决定由研讨会组织者作出。

Workshop Format研讨会形式

The workshop is planned as a half-day event during the conference period. The programme is expected to include 5 invited talks, 2 contributed oral presentations, a poster session, 1 panel discussion, and closing remarks.研讨会计划在会议期间以半天形式举办,议程预计包括 5 场邀请报告、2 场口头报告、海报展示、1 场专题讨论及总结环节。
